Join us this Sunday January 25th to chat about our new organization in our beautiful community! Tomasina & Loki will be gracing us with their presence and are excited to meet everyone who comes by. We'll be explaining our foster-based organization, and will have volunteer applications if you're interested 🩶🐈🏙️

When Luna and her family arrived, they were exhausted and confused. After months of living in a home, they had just been gathered into a car and driven five hours to a strange place. While their story began as an act of love and kindness—a family taking in a stray— it quickly spiraled out of control, and here they were, scared and unsure of what would happen next.
When Luna was found, unbeknownst to everyone, she was already pregnant, and in under two months, one cat had become six.

Overwhelmed by the new kittens and not fully realizing how quickly cats can conceive again, the family allowed Luna outdoor access. Soon, she was pregnant with her second litter. The weight of the added expense, time, and responsibility, and the fear of losing their housing became too much. They eventually made the difficult, right decision to surrender the family together, but only after everyone had suffered the consequences of these hard lessons.

Adopting is a beautiful thing, but it’s vital to understand the real commitments involved. These animals depend on us for the safety and medical care they can not provide for themselves. We do them a disservice in thinking they can fend for themselves or that nature will just "do its thing" when they are reliant on us to learn how to care for them so that we are able to keep them healthy and safe.

This is not meant to judge but to teach. We do our best until we know better, and when we know better, we do better.

Since arriving in November, Luna and her babies have received so much love, and the stability and care they needed and deserved. We are honored to have been their soft place to land and to ensure they never face that uncertainty again.

Everyone, meet Big Poppa. 👑

You've seen our smol babies, and today, we wanted to introduce you to our biggest gentleman at FCCQ.

Poppa came to us after his owner and lifelong companion passed away in November. His whole world changed overnight, but thanks to his amazing foster mom and dad, he knows that he is safe, loved, and absolutely spoiled, while he waits for his forever family.

Tomorrow is a very big day for this big boy. He’s heading to the vet and the groomers for a Beauty and Wellness day:

✨ Wellness check & vaccines.

✨ A consult on a new diet plan (we want him to go into his forever home feeling his absolute best!).

✨ And a spa day at the groomers to make him feel as fresh and special as the Cowardly Lion visiting the Emerald City!

Interrupting your lunch break for the ultimate cuddle puddle. ☀️🐾

If you look closely at this pile of fluff, you might notice something unique. There isn't just one litter of kittens here—there are two. And right in the middle of it all is Luna, the incredible mama who started it all.

This is the "Founding Family" of Foster Cats Collective of Queens.

Over the next few days, we are going to share their incredible journey with you. It’s a story about a brave mom, a cross-country move, a surprise pregnancy (and then another one!), and how seven little lives found their way to safety.

But for right now, we just wanted to introduce you to the whole crew and brighten up your timeline.

Make sure you’re following along—you won’t want to miss Chapter One of Luna’s story coming this week, along with our introduction to Poppa and Luci, two very special cats who are also with our fosters looking for their forever homes.

We wanted to end the night with a little peek at the heart of FCCQ. Part of our "Founding Family," these two and their 5 siblings, have provided us with our daily dose of cute, tons of kitten kisses, and a constant reminder of our committment to creating safe, loving, cozy homes for the cats and kittens of Queens. 👑🐈

We’ll be sharing more of their adorable photos, their full story, and introducing all of our adoptable cats in the coming days.

For now, we wish a very cozy night to our new friends, followers, and future foster families.
